Ever used a Samsung Phone? I used to have a Samsung budget phone almost a year back. This one had a special feature called Zipping Apps. (I honestly don’t know if any other phones or brands have this, so please bear with me). The purpose of Zipping Apps was simple. Gathering all the unused apps and putting them in a folder called Zip. And whenever you need any of those Zipped apps you can just go to the folder and unzip it. Crazy right!! But here is the thing: Even though you zip it, its not uninstalled. It still exists in our phone. Maybe as an application that you do not use, but it still exists. This is the common scenario in our Christian lives. We zip some unnecessary items and keep it instead of uninstalling it. It’s called emotional Baggage We need to let go of certain things. Remember Paul writes in 1 Corinthians, Your body is the temple of the living God. You cannot defile the Temple. You have to keep it holy. Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 NIV Sin is what defiles us. But Grace is what Defines Us.
“Sin is what defiles us. But Grace is what Defines Us.”
What you carry might differ from person to person. Some might be carrying emotional burden, some might be carrying relationship failures or others might have financial burdens, anxiety, depressions, panic, overeating, fear of uncertainty and many more. But what we do is we try to ZIP it and deal with it while you should UNINSTALL it. Don’t we all try to do this. We have this superstitious feeling sometimes that we can deal with it. We can’t. We need to Let God deal with it because God specializes in fighting your battles. So, Let GO and Let GOD. The ball lies in your court. You can ZIP it or UNINSTALL it. And that is why the Bible clearly says Cast your burdens unto Jesus, for He cares for you. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 NIV He cares for you. He looks out for you. He loves you. John 3:16 and Jeremiah 1:5 are the greatest revelations of God’s utmost love and grace to you. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3: 16 NIV “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; Jeremiah 1 :5 NIV UNINSTALL. Don’t carry it. Let it Go. Leave it unto God.
