BIBLICAL NUMEROLOGY - PART 2

Thirty - This is the number of a person's calling. Jesus started his 3 1/2 year ministry around the age of 30.

Forty - The number 40 represents trials.

And rain fell on the earth forty days and forty nights ( Genesis 7:12 NIV)

With Moses, God punished the Israelites for 40 years to wonder the wilderness.

Jesus Christ was tested in the wilderness for forty days and forty nights ( Matthew 4:1-3 NIV).

Forty Two - is linked to the antichrist.

People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?” The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months. ( Revelation 13:4)

Fifty - Symbolizes celebration and joy. Jubilee came on the 50th year, as seen in Leviticus 25:10 NIV:

Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you; each of you is to return to your family property and to your own clan.

Seventy - Symbolizes leadership and judgment

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Come up to the Lord, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel. You are to worship at a distance ( Exodus 24:1).

One Hundred and Twenty - implies a time of waiting. For example, God gave humanity 120 years to repent for their evil (Genesis 6:1-3 NIV):

When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”

One Hundred and Fifty Three - This may imply an overflow of God's blessing.

So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn ( John 21:11).

Three Hundred and Ninety - Symbolizes Separation

“Now, son of man, take a block of clay, put it in front of you and draw the city of Jerusalem on it. Then lay siege to it: Erect siege works against it, build a ramp up to it, set up camps against it and put battering rams around it. Then take an iron pan, place it as an iron wall between you and the city and turn your face toward it. It will be under siege, and you shall besiege it. This will be a sign to the people of Israel. “Then lie on your left side and put the sin of the people of Israel upon yourself. You are to bear their sin for the number of days you lie on your side. I have assigned you the same number of days as the years of their sin. So for 390 days you will bear the sin of the people of Israel (Ezekiel 4:5).

One Thousand - Symbolizes a Conclusion of a period. For example, Jesus will return to establish a 1000 reign on earth after which Satan will launch one last rebellion against God.
